Incoming Michigan Wolverines Top DE Prospect, Corey Malone-Hatcher unable to play in College

The 4th of July day is a day in America to celebrate our country's independence, but unfortunately for one of the countries previous top DE prospects, Saint Joseph 2017 DE Corey Malone-Hatcher he announced on his Twitter today that he will be unable to play football in college.

Malone-Hatcher cited an incident in his junior season in a week 3 win over Portage Northern that Malone-Hatcher tore his left Achilles.   Since that time Malone-Hatcher has worked tirelessly to rehab and to continue playing football on scholarship at the University of Michigan.  Malone-Hatcher closed by saying, "Sadly, my football career is over."

Malone-Hatcher also said he will still enroll at Michigan as a student.

Malone-Hatcher was part of one of the Wolverines best in-state recruiting hauls in awhile as they landed 8 prospects, the most since 2013.

Corey Malone-Hatcher committed on June 2nd, 2016 and was active in the recruiting efforts of selling UM to other prospects publicly through his Twitter account.  Malone-Hatcher committed to Michigan over offers from; Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan State, Kentucky, Wisconsin, etc.

  1. I remember hearing about Corey during his Freshman season from you guys. Thanks for your continuous great coverage of the youth in Michigan! - Mike

  2. Young Man you still have your entire life ahead of you. You can still watch & love the game. You can help others get thru difficult circumstances. The lesson in life is to persevere. It can happen to anyone. This is why educational part is just as important as football. Good job sticking with school. Keep faith & God Bless you.
