  • Intangibles:
    • On the football field I create energy.  My teammates and even the crowd feed off of my ability to push and drive for the extra yard or stoppage of opponent.  I am told I am a throwback player even by referees.  It is not enough to just form tackle, I want to punish within the rules. Tackle through the whistle and not anticipate the whistle.  I love to earn tough yards in the middle.  Equally, it is just as satisfying to lay a downfield block to spring my teammate for bigger gains.  No one will ever have to encourage me to "leave it all on the field".  If I can do my 1/11th and aid my team further I will exhaust myself in that effort.  I love this game, it is in my soul to make an impact every down.  So what separates me from other on the field?  I am the guy that is flying into battle when the whistle is about to blow.  I am not the guys who are coasting to a stop at the near end of the play.   That makes all the difference.
  • How I play the game:
    • I am a smart player that understands coverage and coaching tendency.  I can read an offensive lineman and gain a step.  I am coachable and desire to learn even the small steps that can improve my game and vision.   I hit very hard and pursue and scrape very well.  I play to win every down.  My nose for and ability to react to the ball sets me apart.   I play the game to win the game within all of my knowledge and skill and instincts.
  • Outlook on High School Football and its experiences
    • My freshman season I played four games as a Frosh and moved to JV for the final four season games.   I led my J.V. Squad with tackles and only played four games.  I want to earn a look this year at Linebacker on our Varsity Squad.  We have a lot of returning talent I am eager to join and accent.  I know as well being in a Southwestern Michigan High School will not afford me very many looks for college compared to the East Side.  I must make a impact on the field and in Camps and Combines.  I plan to be All-State, I plan to play in the All Star game.  Hunter Williamson Class of 2020 is going somewhere!
  • Discuss the potential opportunity or the opportunity of playing on the next level
    • I intend to play at the next level.  I intend to use my abilities on the field to afford myself a reasonable education.  I feel I can play at any level if given the opportunity and be able to make an impact.  I am very eager to learn what is out there.
  • Other accolades and/or awards or miscellaneous

Lamarr Woodley's Camp 56 returns for 2nd season at the Legacy Center

Lamarr Woodley intended for a camp that would showcase under recruited and overlooked players in the state of Michigan.  It's safe to say after 1 season that Camp 56 has met that objective and it's on to its 2nd season on July 12th and 13th at the Legacy Center Brighton.

Woodley grew up in Saginaw and attended the University of Michigan so despite not having the struggle to be recruited, Woodley has kept his mind on the ones around him.  Woodley played in the NFL so saw first hand by the players around him that it was a matter of the best players succeeded and sometimes colleges overlook them and they struggle to find a D2 or NAIA school that will offer them a chance to play for their college.

There are 20 spots remaining for the camp which is 2 weeks away and costs $125.  The 2 day camp is an all-day deal where players go through drill work, testing, group sessions, etc. in front of 16 college coaches from D2 and NAIA programs and includes meals and hotel in Brighton.

The Legacy Center hosted their 4th College Camp Tour from June 17th to 24th.  Several players from Michigan and Europe performed at; Ohio State, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Vanderbilt, and Northern Illinois camps.  They also took unofficial visits to Indiana State and Grand Valley State.

Offers during the tour: 2
Slovakia OT/DE Lucas Bockay - Alcorn State

Special contribution from:
Justin Cessante - Legacy Director of Football Operations

Isaiah Johnson

Madison Heights 2019 QB Austin Brown
A dual threat QB with one of the strongest arms at each and every camp we attended. An extremely competitive player that currently holds D1 offers. Has a great ability to throw on the run and under pressure. His accuracy and release are at an elite level. Austin is capable of making big throws from the opposite has including out and comeback routes. His presence and leadership at the QB position make him a special player. We expect an All-State campaign in his junior year with huge stats. After leading Detroit Catholic Central to a State Runner-Up campaign, Brown returns home to Madison High School in 2017 where he will look to do the same for the Eagles. On the Camp Tour in 2016, Brown received an offer from Miami (OH), with three current offers, Austin has the full attention of many schools this coming fall.

Country Day 2018 DB Isaiah Johnson
A long, athletic corner that plays extremely well in both press and man-off coverage. His ability to create long strides makes for deceptive speed.  Isaiah’s wingspan gives receivers fits off the line when he is in man-press coverage. His ball skills and ability to high point the football makes him a natural playmaker. He currently holds an offer from Columbia University. Isaiah has the ability and range to play Corner or Safety. He definitely caught the attention of coaches from Cincinnati, Vanderbilt and Northern Illinois University by competing hard, making multiple plays in the secondary, and standing out as one of the top DB’s at each of the camps the Legacy Tour attended. You can expect a huge senior season from Mr. Johnson and for more offers to follow as Detroit Country Day looks to compete as a top program in Michigan’s Division 4 with Isaiah as a major piece to the puzzle.

Lansing Everett 2019 DB Noah Smith
A strong, quick Strong Safety that is comfortable playing man-press and man-off coverage. His physicality, strength and press-coverage technique allow him to consistently win battles with WR’s at the line of scrimmage. Noah is one of the most underrated DB’s in the State of Michigan. His intelligence, quickness, strength and ball skills gives him the natural ability to support the run defense as well as play man and zone coverage. He has remarkable natural instincts for the game of football. Noah can plan corner, nickel or strong safety. The State of Michigan should expect a breakout All-State season during his Junior campaign. Noah displayed grit, toughness and athleticism at every camp Legacy attended and placed in the top 5 defensive back performances at West Virginia, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt and Northern Illinois.

Lansing Catholic 2018 QB "ATH" Mike Lynn III.
A dual-threat QB that displayed amazing competitiveness and accuracy throughout the Camp Tour. Mikey is a natural born leader that has an amazing work ethic and understanding of the game of football. His quick release and ability to make the necessary reads made him a top QB at every camp we attended. One of the most coachable players on the tour, Mikey is an overall athlete that can play multiple positions, but his consistent performances during the Camp Tour solidified his impact at the QB position. We’re expecting another All-State campaign and many college offers to follow. Upon his return home from the Camp Tour, Mikey received his first offer from Concordia University (Ann Arbor).

Lansing Everret 2018 WR Marcus Jones
A tall, larger framed receiver with long strides and the ability to attack the football. His release off the line and natural hands allowed him to make plays throughout the Camp Tour. Marcus especially displayed his athleticism on vertical routes. A hard working, competitive football player that will have a huge year for the Vikings.

Nate Goralski

Romeo 2018 WR/CB Nate Goralski
A slot WR that was hands down a top 3 talent at his position at each and every camp we attended. His quickness, speed and natural playmaking ability make him lethal in 1-on-1 drills and fun to watch. His best camp was West Virginia University in which the head coach watched him compete for 30 minutes making play after play. Nate is a very special player that was one of the hardest workers on the Camp Tour. His ability to release off of man-press coverage and stem DB’s to create space makes him an elite WR. He is extremely powerful for his size and displayed his vertical play after play by out jumping bigger DB’s. Nate also has a tremendous ability to run after the catch with elusive and explosive moves. Nate was arguably the MVP of the 2017 Legacy College Football Camp Tour and any college that lands this young man will be lucky to have him on the field and in the locker-room.  Expect another big production year out of Nate for the Romeo Bulldogs in 2017.

Warren Mott 2021 WR Pierce Edwards
The youngest player on the Legacy College Camp Tour displayed grit, toughness and great hands throughout the trip. His route running and quickness allowed him to compete against older, more experienced defenders. Pierce excelled in short to mid-range routes and was able to create space with his precise route running and speed. He is an upcoming star and will be a force to be reckoned with in high school. Edwards will be a familiar name very soon.

Detroit Catholic Central 2019 OL Kellen Alder
A huge frame with good hip leverage and feet, Kellen was one of the biggest personalities and hardest workers on the College Camp Tour. A very coachable player that improved on technique as the week progressed and shined in 1-on-1 drills. Alder has the power and quickness to play guard, but also size to play tackle. He will be a key piece up front for DCC this upcoming year and will be a force as he continues to increase his strength and speed. Kellen has a great enthusiasm for the game of football and this will only help to increase his abilities on the field.

Detroit Catholic Central 2019 LB Sam Beydoun

He has the ability to play downhill with good hip leverage and body control. He excelled in zone drops against the pass game and showed a natural ability to rally to the ball. Sam is a finisher and we expect a big Junior campaign for him in which he may play both LB and on the defensive line.

A big, strong LB that can run downhill and sideline to sideline. He showed great ability to use his hands and get off blocks. He has a natural instinct to find the ball and sit in windows within pass coverage. A very physical young man that could play MLB, OLB and/or DE. You can expect a huge senior year for Atherton and offers to follow. A quiet, humble young man that leads by example.

DeMarco Bush

Burton Atherton 2018 WR DeMarco Bush
A long, lengthy, physical WR that did very well against press-coverage consistently making tough catches in traffic. He has deceptive speed with long strides and a physicality that allowed him consistently to win battles in 1-on-1 drills.  A very hard worker that will make plays and serve as a great perimeter blocker for his high school this fall.

Madison Heights 2018 LB Chauncey Ernest
A big, strong, LB that plays extremely well inside the tackles. Ernest shows great leverage and closing speed in space vs. RB’s. Chauncey is able to get off blocks with his quick hands and strength. A downhill, physical football player that will be the leader of the defense for Madison Heights. A 100 tackle season for Ernest is not unlikely at all this season for the Eagles.

Southfield Bradford 2018 CB/RB Zion Horton
A solid  athlete that showed the ability to play running back and corner. A very coachable and smart player with good instincts. Zion is an extremely hard worker and was one of the most improved players on the camp tour. He will be an impact player for the Bradford Academy and a leader on and off the field.

Southfield Bradford 2018 RB/LB Blake Grice-Brunson
A strong, big running back that displayed great vision, moves, strength and speed during the tour. He was selected best of the best at the Ohio State camp. In the run game he has long strides that allows him to run away from defenders and a big frame to run over players. He runs very good routes and showed good hands in one v ones. His ability to stick his foot in the ground and get vertical consistently separated him from other RB’s and made him a standout at every camp we attended. This young man pays attention to detail, works hard and is durable. He will prove to be one of the best backs in the State of Michigan based on his athleticism and instincts for the game of football.

Grand Blanc 2018 LB Khalen Parker
An athletic Linebacker that showed natural talent and instincts throughout the Camp Tour. As a LB, he shows the ability to play in space and run down opposing RB’s. His fluidity and stride allowed him to win many reps throughout the camp and improve each day.

Livonia Churchill 2018 OL Hunter Templin
A stout, hardworking and coachable OL that can play center or guard. Hunter is physical at the point of attack and displayed good hip leverage, active feet, and vision. He did very well in his 1-on-1 drills by using leverage and power to defeat larger DL. His maturity and ability to perfect his technique throughout the week made him one of the more improved players on the Camp Tour.

Kentrell Ware

Burton Atherton 2018 RB Kentrell Ware
An extremely powerful and explosive running back that excelled in 1-on-1 drills against LB’s. Kentrell has a lot of agility in his game that at times made defenders completely miss in competitive drills. He’s a dynamic back that can run downhill, catch the football and block. Kentrell will gain yards after contact and be a physical force in his league this fall for Atherton. A hard worker, competitive player that plays with grit and it will show this 2017 season.

Romeo 2018 ATH Brandon Hicks
An all-around athlete that competed at QB during the Camp Tour. His athleticism and arm strength displayed on a consistent basis. A very fast player that can hurt teams with his arm and legs. Brandon excelled when throwing on the run and showed his elite athleticism in testing drills at West Virginia University, running some of the best times at the camp. Brandon will be a weapon on offensive and defensive for Romeo and provide the team with an “x factor”. A very humble, but competitive student athlete that was coachable, focused and savvy. This is an up and coming star that the entire state should be on the lookout for in 2017.

De La Salle 2019 DT Danny Motowski
A stud defensive lineman that plays with a nasty physical toughness. Showed great quickness of the hands and a powerful point of attack. Danny is extremely strong and has tremendous punch as well as great hip level made coaches from the D1 level take notice at Cincinnati and Vanderbilt. He’s very dynamic in the pass rush with the ability to bull rush and maneuver against slower OL. Danny’s width will make him a force for DeLaSalle and make it tough for opponents to run on the defense. His knowledge of the game, coachable attributes and work ethic made him a top player at each of the camps. He is a star on the rise and should have an All-State campaign for the Pilots.

Cordell Tannyhill

De La Salle 2018 RB Cordell Tannyhill
One of the most underrated RB’s in the State of Michigan. A powerful, quick running back that displayed great footwork in the hole and competitiveness in every drill. His strength and low center of gravity allowed himl to make cuts and get vertical in the blink of an eye. Cordell showed the ability to be a 3 down back running the ball, catching the football out of the backfield, and a forceful blocker in space. He has a strong lower body which gives him the ability to gain yards after contact and bull over defenders. He will be a star in the Catholic League giving the Pilots a weapon on offense. You can expect a 1,000 yard rushing 2017 campaign in one of the toughest divisions in the State of Michigan. He’s truly a grinder.

Eisenhower 2019 DE JaiJavante Reid
Jaijavante has a big frame and the potential to be a great football player. His length and burst off the ball made him efficient in his pass rush. A hard worker that was very attentive to coaching and improved on a daily basis. He has the ability to play both sides of the ball and be impactful as a blocking and pass catching TE. The future is bright for Jaijavante as he fills out his frame and improves his strength and speed.

Madison Heights 2019 RB/Slot Khy’ron Parker
Khy’ron is a quick, fast twitch, and athletic scat back that can play RB and/or Slot. His cutting ability and route running were impressive throughout the Camp Tour. His speed and elusiveness caused matchup problems for Linebackers in which he showed agility and soft hands. His ability to get vertical off the start and get out of his breaks allowed him to get open on a consistent basis. He will be a highlight player in Madison Heights new high powered offense.

Livonia Franklin 2020 OL Jake Swirple
A young, but energetic talent that can play guard or center. His enthusiasm and intensity for the game gives him a non-stop motor. Jake is a quick learner that competes hard and pushes himself against top talented players. Jake showed good power and run blocking technique in drills. As he improves his footwork and hip level he will be a sound pass protector. Jake proved that he can be a leader and positively influence a locker-room. We expect good things from this young man in the near future.

Eisenhower 2019 WR/DB Ian Kennelly
Ian competed on the Camp Tour at DB for the majority of the camps. He’s a good size DB that showed the ability to track the football and keep his composure to make plays. He was able to correct his mistakes quickly and apply to the next rep. His progression during the week was consistent and he showed the ability to fight through adversity and win his 1-on-1 match-ups. Ian has solid hands and can be a factor on both sides of the football. He will be an asset for Eisenhower in his upcoming campaign.

Melvin has a long frame and used his reach to engage WR’s down the field and knock them off their routes. His length also allowed him to make plays on the football against big WR’s in space. Melvin improved over the week long Camp Tour and should go home and be impressive for his UK Football Club.

A tall defensive end with a big frame and long wing span. Noah showed great “get off” speed on pass rush as well as sound pass rush moves that allowed him to win the majority of his 1-on-1 battles. Noah has great upside and potential as he continues to build his strength and development in the game. Many D1 and D2 coaches took notice of his skill set and work ethic. There is no doubt that he will earn a scholarship and play at the next level if he continues to work hard.

Finland DT Filip Zacok
A big, tall 3 technique defensive lineman that received an offer from Indiana State University while on the Camp Tour. Filip has great hip leverage, quick hands, and consistently physical on the point of attack. He showed a variety of pass rush moves and gave fits to OL throughout the Camp Tour. His potential and upside made him a top prospect at each camp and many college coaches now have him on their board.

Slovakia OT/DE Lucas Bockay
The largest player on the Camp Tour at 6’8’’ 290lbs, Lucas is a  brute force. His strength made him a continuous force in run block drills. Lucas has above average hips especially for his size and picked up on coaching tips and applied them to improve his game.  Lucas has a wingspan of 7ft which allowed him to compete on both sides of the ball at OT and DE. His motor skills and size were definitely an “x factor” in 1-on-1 drills. Many schools approached Lucas about a potential opportunity to play at the next level.

Poland QB Tadek Bellaby
A pinpoint passer that improved tremendously during the week long Camp tour. Bellaby proved to be a  quick learner as he showed great accuracy with short and mid – range routes. An extremely hard worker that engaged the coaches and took the coaching very easily. His personality and leadership made him a positive impact on everyone that participated in the 2017 Legacy College Camp Tour. Tadek looks to continue to improve and compete in order to play at the next level.

Switzerland QB Nicolas Messmer
A tall, athletic quarterback with a cannon of an arm. Nicolas proved day in and day out that he could throw the long ball and do so with accuracy. Nicolas did very well in fast-paced, competitive drills, especially at Ohio State. His charisma and presence showed that he’s talented far beyond the football field. He was a great player to have on the tour. His natural athletic ability will make him a positive pick up for any team.

Denmark DT Mad Hansen
Mad is a good sized, athletic player that showed good leverage and quickness off the ball. He improved each and every day while displaying his skill set. His hands gradually got more physical during the tour and displayed mental and physical toughness finishing the tour on a strong display at Northern Illinois University.

West Bloomfield WR A.J. Abbott previews his commitment tonight

At 9 pm West Bloomfield will have back-to-back WR's make their college commitments.  West Bloomfield 2018 WR A.J. Abbott will commit at 9 pm on Friday night between; Iowa, Michigan State, and Wisconsin.  All 3 schools offered in a week span, starting 2 weekends ago.  West Bloomfield WR Taj Mustapha committed to Wisconsin the night prior.

The talented and lengthy receiver apparently has found what he's looking for in the school.  Abbott possesses great length and has the speed to become a very dangerous vertical threat and also has good ball skills.

Abbott summarized on what stands out about the school he will be committing to, without mentioning the school, "It's a perfect fit for me and I get a great vibe every time I'm on campus. The coaches really wanted me to be a part of the family and I can't find one bad thing about them."

Stay tuned at 9 pm for his decision.

Michigan State snags two studs from D1 contenders

Michigan State's Elite 1-Day camp this past weekend was absolutely loaded with talent.  Two of the Spartans top targets committed shortly after the camp.  Belleville 2018 CB Davion Williams committed the day of the camp, shortly after it ended and Saline 2018 OT Dimitri Douglas committed two days later on Monday afternoon.

Saline and Belleville are tucked on the sides of Ann Arbor and are both expected to be contending for the Division 1 state championship in 2017.  In 2016 Saline actually beat Belleville in the first round of the playoffs and the two Spartan bound prospects could meet one more time before they pad up together.

Saline 2018 OL Dimitri Douglas is 6'4" 290 lbs and received 7 MAC offers, East Carolina, and a handful of FCS offers before he headed to MSU's 1-Day camp.  The point of a camp like that is obviously to earn an offer and that's the intentions Douglas had as he described why he committed as quickly as he did upon earning the offer from MSU, "I knew I wanted to play at MSU for a while so when they offered it was a no brainer."

Belleville 2018 CB Davion Williams held 17 offers and really started to blow up with bigger offers in April.  Michigan State offered during evaluation period in May.  Williams is a raw, long, and rangy prospect with huge upside was also direct in knowing he wanted to play for Michigan State, "I committed to MSU because not only is it my dream school, it’s the best fit for me.  Coach Barnet develops pros and I’d like to be a part of that!"

Douglas flashes immense versatility for a lineman as he has good balance, footwork, and moves well.  Douglas opened up on what Michigan State plans to do with him, "Coach Staten and I have been building a relationship for awhile and they see me playing guard or center in college."

Williams initially skipped the first two years of football to play basketball, he has no regrets now as he's lived out his dream to commit to Michigan State.  Williams shared how MSU plans to utilize his talents, "They like my ability to cover and play man and I’m an athletic corner."

During the process of earning the offer, Douglas was extremely dialed-in, knowing it could be, make or break on earning the offer.  Success normally goes hand-in-hand with having fun, doing what you love as Douglas explained his mindset during camp, "the camp competition was fierce, but the camp was a lot of fun."

Michigan State' huge camp day could pay dividends in the future as several offered underclassmen were attendance and West Bloomfield's WR duo; Taj Mustapha and A.J. Abbott are deciding this weekend.  Edit:  Mustapha committed to Wisconsin.
