Former Waterford Mott 4-Star WR Dez Fitzpatrick expected to be 1 of College Football's biggest breakouts in 2017

In a weekly column by the "Godfather of Recruiting," Mike Farrell of Rivals.com, Waterford Mott 2016 WR Desmond Fitzpatrick is expected to be 1 of the 10 biggest breakouts in college football this upcoming season.

After a redshirt season in 2016, it should come to no surprise to see another local talent making waves in college football.  Fitzpatrick will line up across from the previous Heisman Trophy winner in Lamar Jackson who threw for 3,543 yards and 30 touchdowns and remained a ground threat with 1,571 rushing yards in 2016.

Putting the former 4-star receiver who selected Louisville over offers from; Michigan, Mississippi State, etc with a QB like Jackson is a recipe for good things to come.  Jackson and Fitzpatrick showed their chemistry to the public for the first time in April during their spring game in which Dez caught 9 passes for 176 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Fitzpatrick is 6'2" 205 lbs and was tested running a 4.38 40-yard dash this spring.

In his senior year of high school at Waterford Mott, Fitzpatrick caught 60 receptions for 1,317 yards and 23 touchdowns.  The record for touchdowns in a season was 26 set by J.T. Jones of Ithaca in 2001.

You may or may not recall, but Fitzpatrick was the first prospect in the Class of 2016 to be offered when Indiana offered in June 2013.

We're glad seeing the process come full circle, as 2017 is shaping to be a big year!
