Top Performers from Rising Stars 7 on 7 on February 18th

Saturday afternoon was host to 3 different 7on7 programs with numerous teams that went head-to-head in 7on7 at Ultimate Soccer in Pontiac.  Rising Stars who organizes everything had over 4 teams competing while Max Ex had 2, and Michigan Next Level / 1Nation had 1.

Quarterbacks certainly grab your attention in 7 on 7 and the quarterbacks competing on Saturday certainly were no pushovers.  West Bloomfield 2018 QB Bryce Veasley is up to 3 offers including; Toledo, Central Michigan, and most recently Eastern Michigan.  Veasley is a big strong QB who can sit in the pocket and deliver a range of passes.  On the same day Veasley was offered by Eastern Michigan, so was Eisenhower 2018 QB Max Wittwer who is a dual-threat QB and emotional leader of his Eagles team.  Wittwer despite not being in the 7 on 7 atmosphere and with unfamiliar players still can make great throws and has great accuracy.  Wittwer's offer count should definitely rise in the future.  Detroit King 2019 QB Dequan Finn oddly has remained somewhat under the radar, but if his sophomore season was any tale of what's to come, expect that radar to blow up as will Finn's recruiting process.  He's grown a ton over the past year so it's only logical once coaches see him in-person this year, things will begin to warm up for Finn.  Michigan Next Level QB, Belleville 2019 QB Dylan Zagula has done well at Romulus, but will move west to Belleville for his next 2 years.  Zagula has a pretty good arm strength and with good height, aids his ability to read the field.  West Bloomfield 2020 QB Anthony Romphf is one who has grown nicely as just a Freshman now, Romphf makes a lot of good throws and definitely one we'll be eyeing these next 3 years as he'll have offers.  Flint Carman-Ainsworth 2020 Dustin Fletcher throws very well too and is young, so expecting numerous offers to him over the next 3 years.

West Bloomfield 2018 WR Taj Mustapha has climbed up to 6 offers and more will certainly be coming for the big-bodied receiver who has very good speed to compliment his size, making him a very intriguing receiver prospect.  Mustapha's teammate, West Bloomfield 2018 TE/WR James Faulkner stands at 6'4" 205 lbs and moves very well for his size.  Faulkner isn't a name that people outside of this region know about, but expect that to change by the time he is a Senior.  He stood out to us when we saw West Bloomfield play Oxford this year, but Saturday was our first time seeing him since then.  Belleville 2019 WR Julian Barnett is a top receiver in his class with big time speed and size, most DB's have issues dealing Barnett when he's on the field.  Barnett holds 5 offers.   Detroit King 2018 Jaeveyon Morton has seen a spike in his recruitment since his junior season ended, he's so quick and elusive plus has good body strength that allows him to be a constant big play threat.  Redford Union 2019 SS/TE Cameron Wells is very much under the radar as well for the upstart program, we'll definitely be looking at him more as he's great sized now, just need more polishing which is what the off-season is for.  Detroit King 2019 WR Ahmad Gardner holds an early offer from Toledo and was close to as unstoppable as possible on Saturday with 10 catches for 9 touchdowns.  East English Village Prep 2019 DB/WR Terrance Brown is young and raw, but at 6'2" 150 lbs is definitely one who if continues to hit the weight room and keeps improving through the off-season should draw more looks.  Walled Lake Western 2020 WR/S Calvin Brown is a speedy receiver and should have a pretty big role at Western this year as a sophomore.

Saint Mary's 2018 LB/RB "ATH" Kyren Cunningham didn't let his breakout junior season impact his work ethic this off-season as he was out improving his cover skills.  Cunningham is being recruited all over the place, so his versatility is obvious, but it will likely come to his size on where his future will be.  Cass Tech 2019 LB/RB Marcellus Gaines somehow was under the radar as a sophomore at Brother Rice, but expect that to change big-time at Cass Tech as Gaines is a fleet footed and strong LB/RB prospect who will be turning a lot of eyes this year.

West Bloomfield had a pair of standout DB's in 2019 SS/WR Lance Dixon who has grown well over the past year and a sure fire recruit, who can't be under the radar too much longer.  Dixon has good speed and like teammate, 2018 DB "ATH" Richard Sanders has good physical traits that make them standout at events such as over the weekend.  Detroit King 2018 Jaeveyon Morton as you would expect stands out whatever side of the ball he's on.  See more on him above, he currently holds 10 offers.  De La Salle 2019 Jacob Dobbs is a nice S/OLB prospect who has good versatility.  Dobbs broke out as a sophomore at Dakota, so will be interesting to see his transition and growth.  South Lyon East 2019 CB/WR Jon Carter has spent a lot of time improving his skills and Saturday used his technique to make up for his lack of height and tallied over half-a-dozen breakups and an interception.
