The D Zone 2016 All-Michigan Football Player Rankings: #31-40

The following rankings are determined by The D Zone and are organized by who we feel were the best players.  These are not recruiting rankings, but highly recruited players are typically highly ranked, but there's always exceptions to that rule.

Kyren Cunningham

31. Cass Tech 2019 RB "ATH" Jaren Mangham
-  Mangham was the youngest contributor on the Division 1 state champions and also the newest as he transferred in from Ohio during the off-season.  Mangham had two touchdown runs in Cass Tech's pivotal semi-final game vs. Eisenhower.  Without Mangham you might not be looking at the D1 champions of Cass Tech.

32. Saint Mary's 2018 RB/LB "ATH" Kyren Cunningham
-  Cunningham's classmate RaShawn Allen exceeded 2,000 rushing yards, but Cunningham was just as effective in his own way as very offenses had answers for Cunningham.  Kyren Cunningham capped off junior season with a game winning touchdown reception with 4 seconds remaining.

33. Saint Mary's 2017 LB Dwayne Chapman
-  Chapman had to live on the shadows of Michigan commit, Josh Ross his career, but Chapman always played at his own high-level, never really letting Ross impact his style.  Chapman always capped off his seasons with huge defensive performances in the three D3 title games he appeared in vs;  Muskegon - 2014, Chelsea - 2015, and Muskegon - 2016.  Chapman is committed to Western Michigan.

34. Ann Arbor Pioneer 2017 LB/RB Antjuan Simmons
-  With a junior season that made everyone tremble, Simmons had a huge target on him that was tough to replicate as a Senior.  Simmons effort was never in question despite finding out around mid-season that Pioneer wouldn't be playoff bound.

35.  Detroit Catholic Central 2017 OL/DL Blake Bueter
-  Bueter and his teammates don't do anything fancy they just push defensive lineman backwards and let their runningbacks run through giant holes, but for Bueter he is very versatile and able to execute at a high level.

36. Romeo 2019 MLB Brock Horne
-  Believe it or not, some people didn't think Romeo could repeat their success even close in 2016.  Romeo reached the semi-finals behind an emergence of Horne who replaced all 3 graduating linebackers, including Mitchell Heimbuch.  Horne is a prototype MLB and has very good coverage abilities for being so young.

37.  Cass Tech 2017 LB Taron Young
-  Cass Tech's MLB is one who draws a lot of eyes and for a good reason.  Young is a strong and quick on his feet which allows him to easy attack the ball.  Young led a defense that basically shutdown Catholic Central who had been running wild on all their opponents through 13 games.  Young is committed to Eastern Michigan.

38. Muskegon 2018 QB Ladarius Jefferson
-  Jefferson started out as a Freshman at Muskegon transferred to Mississippi and returned his junior season back to Muskegon.  Jefferson formed one of the most effective 2 headed QB attacks anywhere as him and Kalil Pimpleton were unstoppable this year, their only 2 drives in the state finals that didn't go for touchdowns was an interception and last play of the game.

39. Dakota 2017 WR Jaylen Hall
-  Hall didn't wait long to put his name on the map, as his 3 touchdown performance vs. Saint Mary's propelled Dakota to the big win and set tone for rest of a big senior season.

40. Grand Rapids CC 2017 DB/WR Mike Brown
-  To say Brown was a good reason why GRCC won the D4 title is an understatement.  Brown and his classmate Antonio Strong accounted for 98% of GRCC's receiving yardage where they were about split on 1,000+ yards each.  Brown is an even better DB, who QB's had to be weary about, came up with an improbably 1 handed interception mid-season.  Brown is committed to Miami University.
