The 5 Great Lake Michigan High School Football Player Rankings for the Class of 2013

Thanks for checking out The D Zone’s Michigan High School Football Player Rankings page. If you are wondering what our new “5 Great Lake Recruit" system is, think of it as the 5-star recruit system used by the national recruiting sites, such as Rivals.com. The concept of The Great Lakes Recruit clicked with us as we worked hard to come up with a unique term. Ultimately we figured you the players would rather tweet, "I just saw that I was a # Great Lake Recruit on The D Zone!!!" We do our best to provide a service here in Michigan that is unlike anything else in the world. We decided that using the Great Lakes term, here in Michigan, would be a great combination. Please note that these rankings consist only of committed players. If you are not on this list and are wondering why, please e-mail us at TheDZone586@gmail.com.  The lists were compiled by three of The D Zone staff members, along with an anonymous legend. Please enjoy the rankings and be ready to tweet and share with everyone how many Great Lakes you've been ranked. Also worth noting, prospects will never be demoted a Great Lake from their initial ranking, which is assigned as they commit.

  5. Cass Tech and their players are over-rated! As a former college player and former coach, current ref and father, I base that on 20 years of observation. OVER-RATED!

    1. They won 2 state titles in Division 1. They're not overrated.

  6. Just because you win state championship doesn't make a player great. It means the team and or system might be pretty good. Example Brother Rice! Why aren't there more D 1 signings ?

  9. How many of the D-1 players from Cass Tech are 2 deep on the depth charts of the schools that they are at? Not ment to offend anyone just asking a question.

  10. Weber goes to Clarkston and he gains 1200 yds, Erickson, behind 3 D I recruits from CT gains 3000! Campbell plays in Mac Red and throws for 1000 or so. Top QB goes to Tech will throw for 3000! They are good athletes that are made better by their coach and their system of getting the top Wayne County players. Seperate, they are just good players, some would not even stand out!

  11. I think the key to the article is that it only stated football players in high school. The ranking of high school players not college death chart.

    1. As far as high school ranking of players goes how come the past 4 or 5 years the majority of high school All-Americans come out of Cass Tech. You can't tell me that there are not some more deserving players some were out there in the whole state of Michigan. It just go to show you it's not what you know but who you know

    2. Its funny when CT finally get the attention they deserve here comes the haters, gholston was all big ten, Allen Langford was too, so was Clarence Williams, all Cass graduates, those were just to name a few from the top of my head, 95% pecent of they're players come from the TDPAL little league, who produces more top athletes then any other youth league in the state of Michigan, Larry footer, pepper johnson, Robert Johnson, braylon Edwards, Bart star, Michael westbrooke, I can on and on, not to mention, most of the top athletes from other schools camefrom that league, Romello Brown, Desmond King, Demistrius Stenson, almost all of oak park, .... the beloved Devin Gardner who is currently their, funchess, Ramon Taylor... so yes the best talent in the state is and has always has and will be at Cass Tech or better yet the PSL, or ever better from the Think Detroit Police Athletic League, I know its an hard oukk to swallow, but reality hurts and YOU people can't stand it....
