Position (s): OL
Height and Weight: Height - 6'4" Weight - 265
First Game Started: Game 1 of my Sophomore year at Warren Fitzgerald.
#1 Most Memorable Game: Playing Hazel Park in the playoffs on their home field. We had lost to Hazel Park in week 2 of the regular season and ended up playing them again in the first round of the playoffs. We won the game 59-58 after being down by 18 at one point in the second half. After the game the crowd rushed the field and we shocked a lot of people winning that game.
Pre-game Traditions: We have chapel before each game for whoever on the team wants to come, after that we eat as a team and then I usually just listen to music and get ready for the game.
Post-game Traditions: Most of the guys on the team always meet up at a local restaurant after a win or loss to talk about the game get some food.
Athlete you try building your game around: My favorite tackle in the NFL is Jake Long and he is always getting better so I look up to him for that.
The D - Zone - How does it feel committing to the Bowling Green State University?
Clark Clancy - "It feels great to finally commit and get a lot of pressure off of my shoulders. Now I can just focus on my senior season and our team goals."
The D - Zone - What stands out the most about Bowling Green State University?
Clark Clancy - "When I visited last week everything just felt right. I got to spend a lot of individual time with all the coaches and a lot of current players. The questions that I had were all answered and I really think Bowling Green has a bright future, on the field and in the classroom."
The D - Zone - What have you enjoyed the most while visiting the campus?
Clark Clancy - "The facilities are great at BG and a lot of things are brand new. Including the locker room, dorms, and cafeteria's. Honestly while I was there the players were great though and that is very important. Surrounding yourself with the right type of guys is key to winning games."
The D - Zone - What do the Bowling Green State University coaches, like about the way you play?
Clark Clancy - "The coaches love the way I get down field and block the second level. Also my athleticism is something they like too. Once I am there I will most likely play as a guard."
The D - Zone - When Bowling Green State University coaches found out you committed, how was their excitement level and what did they say to you?
Clark Clancy - "Everyone was excited, I talked with several of the coaches today and everything was positive. They're happy to have me in the family."
The D - Zone - Are you familiar with any players on the Falcons roster?
Clark Clancy - "Yes I am. I played with DJ Lynch my freshman year when he was a senior at Avondale so that will be nice to know someone on the team. I also know the family of Austin Collier."
The D - Zone - Since Bowling Green State University isn't far from the border of Michigan, did the close distance effect your decision?
Clark Clancy - "The distance of any school was never really a factor going into my decision, but being an hour and a half away from home is just another positive."
The D - Zone - What's in store for your future leading up to Signing Day?
Clark Clancy - "From here on out I'll just be focusing on the upcoming season. I know we are going to do big things in the league this year and I can't wait to get the season started."
