Game of the Decade, Stevenson vs. Clarkston in 2009

Stevenson and Clarkston in the 2009 Semi-Final, Stevenson would win 37-35 on a game that came down to the last play.  Stevenson would take a 14-0 lead in the second quarter, with a D.J. Mershman touchdown reception and a touchdown run by quarterback, Jason Fracassa.  Clarkston would come back in the second quarter with a touchdown reception by Chris Canada and a touchdown run by Dakota Bender.  John Brown would kick a field goal for Stevenson to retake the lead 17-14 at halftime.


In the third quarter, Tyler Scarlett would find Dustin Gamble for a 36 yard touchdown pass to give Clarkston their first lead of the game 20-17.  Stevenson would close out the third quarter with two touchdowns, the first by Mark Kovalcik and then a Marcus Beaurem touchdown reception.  Heading into the fourth quarter, Stevenson led 31-20.  Clarkston would storm back with 15 points, first was a Jordan Clark touchdown reception and the two point conversion would be good, then a 5 yard touchdown run by Tyler Scarlett.  Stevenson would get a chance down 35-31 with just over two minutes left but Fracassa would throw an interception.  Clarkston attempted to run out the clock however on third down, the Clarkston runningback would fumble the ball and Stevenson fell on the loose ball.  Stevenson had just under 40 seconds to score a touchdown.Stevenson Titans MAC Red Michigan High School Football Clarkston Wolves PSL Records Championship MHSAA Lake Orion Dakota OAA Semi-Finals 2009 
After getting down inside the 10 yard line, Stevenson would call a timeout on 4th down and would convert for the first down, Fracassa then spiked the ball leaving .4 seconds left on the clock.  Fracassa then would find a wide open Dylan Cooper in the corner of the end zone as the clock expired, lifting Stevenson to a 37-35 victory.Stevenson Titans MAC Red Michigan High School Football Clarkston Wolves PSL Records Championship MHSAA Lake Orion Dakota OAA Semi-Finals 2009 game of the
Fracassa would set the single season passing yards record this game.  Fracassa is the only quarterback in MHSAA history to throw for over 4,000 yards in a single season.

    1. Thank Your Head Coaches for Giving that Game away.. Not hard to figure out who's to Blame for that Blunder. Has to go down as one of the Biggest Blunders in high school Football Period!!! Can't Blame it on the Refs. If you take a knee you punch your ticket to Ford Field.

  2. Grosse Pointe South vs Temperance Bedford in 2010 foggy division 2 region 4 final. South won 44-42 on last second field goal after trailing by 14 three different times during the game. Best game no one ever saw!!

  4. Clarkston vs Dakota, dont remember the year, 2000? 2001? Multiple OT's, deep in the playoffs, best game I've ever seen. Maybe not in the last decade, but real close.

  5. Utica Ford Vs Macomb Dakota 2006 ford was 40 point underdogs and won 23-20 in triple ot

    1. I started on that Dakota team that played Clarkston and lost 57-56 in 4OTs in the 1999 Regional Finals. It's still a game that I hear talked about today, crazy.

  6. Yeah that Ford game was nuts, it was Dakota's homecoming game too and Dakota would go 13-1 that season.
