- The Gaylord Saint Mary's Cathedral Snowbirds have hired Denny YoungDyke to become the new head coach. The Snowbirds are coming off of a 0-8 record in 2010. Click here to view more by Petoskeynews.com.
- The Ottawa Kent Conference is going to hold off on more realignment talks until August writes Mlive.com.
- The Toledo Rockets picked up their biggest addition to the class of 2012 when Crockett quarterback gave a verbal commitment to the Rockets. Blackburn had offers from Buffalo and Central Michigan but has received plenty of attention from Big 10 and other big colleges. Rivals rates Blackburn as a 3*.
- The Michigan State Spartans picked up their 9th commit and their biggest one yet. Southfield Lathrup linebacker, Jamal Lyles who is ranked as the #18 player in the state.
- One of the biggest commits the Spartans had for the 2011 class was Lansing Sexton's, Onaje Miller. This week Miller decided to transfer and was released from his Michigan State scholarship. Miller played in the All Star game on Saturday at Central Michigan University.
- Novi Catholic Central scheduled to play one of the top teams from the Columbus, Ohio area, Hilliard Davidson in week 2 of the upcoming season. Catholic Central will be making the trip to Davidson's home field.
- The East All Stars handled the West All Stars in Saturday's All Star game which was held at Kelly Shorts Stadium in Central Michigan University. The East was led by former Cass Tech quarterback, Keith Moore. The future Saginaw Valley QB, threw all over the West defense just like he did for the Technicians in 2010. Moore finished with 212 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, as he waited behind starting quarterback, Tom Vento. For more view the recap, written by Friday Night Titans.

- Top 100 prospect for the class of 2012, Daron Brown of Mumford was offered by Western Michigan.
- Top 100 prospect for the class of 2012, Jordan Woods of Ann Arbor Skyline was offered by Purdue.
- Top 100 prospect for the class of 2012, Stephon Hall of Consortium Prep was offered by Eastern Michigan.
- Top 100 prospect for the class of 2012, Drake Johnson of Ann Arbor Pioneer was offered by Eastern Michigan.
