Two Dayton Players Released

Both Percy Gibson from Detroit Southeastern and LaDontae Henton from Lansing Eastern were granted releases from their letter of intents they signed in November from the University of Dayton.

The reasoning behind their release is because Brian Gregory their former coach moved onto Georgia Tech, leaving an open head coach position for the Flyers.

With Gibson becoming the real headline of Southeastern down the stretch and into the playoffs, schools have reached out.  One of the reasons why Gibson chose the Ohio school was because its nearly a 4-5 hour drive south on I-75.  The Detroit Titans are rumored to be a possible destination for Gibson.  Gibson wants to play close to home.

Gibson had offers from Southern California, Providence and Minnesota according to head coach George Ward.

  1. Good info as always. Sad to hear but I am sure Both Gibson and Henton will have a fallback option
